“Sing joyfully to the Lord…. Praise the Lord with the harp;  make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre” – Psalm 33: 1-2

The Praise Band at Celebration Church has the unique goal of leading God’s people into deeper worship through music.   We believe that music should be used to 1) “paint a picture of Christ” and 2) draw people into a worshipful setting that prepares them to hear God’s Word with receptive ears and hearts.  Although music is played from a “stage”, it is not seen as a “performance”.  We believe that music IS worship and is done for an audience of ONE.

Celebration Church uses a “contemporary” approach to worship music.  This includes familiar praise and worship songs and hymns.  It also includes use of secular songs that help convey appropriate themes that fit with the message for current sermon topics.

The band employs the use of drums, keyboards, vocals, acoustic, electric and bass guitars to put a unique twist to many familiar worship songs and even re-work hymns for a fresh, thought provoking and, hopefully, deeper worship experience.  Regardless of the style, music is a gift from God and is viewed as a large component of worship at Celebration Community Church.

If you are a musician, regardless of your level of experience, and are interested in joining the Celebration Praise Band, contact Rob Ribbens, our director of music ministries.  There is a tremendous range of experience and musical backgrounds in the Celebration Praise Band.  Some have been musicians for decades and others had NO musical experience until they came to Celebration.  Some cut their teeth on rock and roll while others are classically trained.  Thankfully, all these levels of experience and varying styles can come together for ONE purpose;  Praising God.  Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

“Praise Him with the …  trumpet … harp and lyre … tambourine and dancing … strings and flute …. The clash of cymbals”  Psalm 150
