Have you ever somewhat bored by it all? Is your idea of risk putting a fish symbol on your car? Do you ever find yourself being more concerned about your Christian reputation than the needs of the world?

Do you know why most of us miss out on the adventure that following Jesus entails? It’s because we fail to put our theology into biography. It’s because we make our faith more about what not to do and not enough about what we should do!

The Bible says, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us….” When we follow Jesus we follow a person who put his thoughts and feelings into action. We follow a shepherd who would do anything to reach us and love us. We follow a savior who radically followed the will of God and that got him in trouble. Are we ready for a faith that calls us up off those things called peeeeews?

Every once in a while we need to stop and check our spiritual pulse. Are we spiritually alive? Our human nature is to lean more toward security, no mater how trustworthy we know God to be. If only we could know what will happen…if only we knew how things were going to turn out. But what has Jesus always answered those who asked for a peek into the future? He says, “Follow me!”
